Certificate
Heavy Equipment Telematics & Electro-Hydraulics Technician
A 12-credit certificate in four courses: heavy equipment electrical systems and SAE J1939 CAN networks, electronic joystick and valve controllers, electro-hydraulic pumps, valves and system diagnostics, and telematics, GPS machine guidance and data analysis. Coursework is vendor-neutral. It prepares you for industry practice and does not by itself grant any license or agency certification.

Curriculum
Term 2
Electronic Joystick and Valve Controller Integration
This course delivers comprehensive training on the operation, configuration, and troubleshooting of electronic operator interfaces and proportional valve driver modules in mobile heavy equipment. Technicians will master signal conditioning, pulse-width modulation output tuning, closed-loop feedback calibration, and diagnostic fault isolation across electro-hydraulic control subsystems.
Electro-Hydraulic Pumps, Proportional Valves, and System Diagnostics
This course provides advanced technical instruction on electro-hydraulic power generation, proportional valve actuation, and closed-loop hydraulic control systems used in heavy machinery. Technicians will learn to evaluate fluid power circuits, calibrate electronic displacement controls, and execute rigorous diagnostic procedures using digital diagnostic tooling and pressure instrumentation.
