Laboratory Microscope Service Technician
A 15-credit certificate covering clinical and research microscope service: objective and eyepiece optics, numerical aperture, Kohler illumination, condenser and collimation alignment, stage and focus mechanics, safe optic cleaning, fluorescence and camera systems, and preventive maintenance programs for laboratories. The last two courses cover advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics, then inspection, regulations and compliance.

Advanced Troubleshooting and Board-Level Diagnostics
This course provides advanced technicians with the skills to diagnose and repair complex issues in laboratory microscope systems at the board level. Students will master schematic interpretation, signal tracing, component-level fault isolation, and strategic repair decisions.
Inspection, Regulations and Compliance
This course covers essential regulations and compliance standards impacting laboratory microscope service, focusing on safety, inspection readiness, and documentation. Students will develop practical skills in electrical safety testing, incident reporting, and maintaining meticulous service records.
