Advanced Troubleshooting and Board-Level Diagnostics

Building upon foundational knowledge, this advanced course delves into complex diagnostic challenges encountered with modern patient monitoring and defibrillation equipment. Students will develop proficiency in interpreting detailed electrical schematics, performing precise signal tracing, and systematically isolating faults down to the component level on printed circuit boards. Comprehensive coverage includes power supply diagnostics, sensor interface troubleshooting, and advanced analysis of control board functionality. Emphasis is placed on using specialized test equipment, documenting repair procedures thoroughly, and understanding the critical factors involved in deciding whether to repair a board or replace it, all while adhering to stringent safety protocols and regulatory standards. Practical application and critical thinking are central to the curriculum.
