Lockout/Tagout & Hazardous Energy Control
SAF 105 provides technicians with comprehensive knowledge and applied skills needed to control hazardous energy in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147. The course covers energy-control program development, written procedures, and the identification and isolation of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, gravity, spring, and capacitor stored energy sources. Learners will practice verification of zero energy state, group lockout procedures, shift-change protocols, and contractor coordination through two simulated bench labs. The course concludes with guidance on lock removal rules and periodic inspection requirements, culminating in a capstone assignment where technicians design and execute a complete lockout/tagout procedure demonstrating mastery of all program elements.
