Radiation Physics & Safety
X-ray production physics, interaction with matter, ALARA, shielding, dosimetry, and personnel monitoring for service technicians.
Electronics & High-Voltage Systems for Imaging
Power distribution, high-voltage transformers, rectification, cable and tank service, and safe discharge procedures.
Term 2
X-Ray Generators, Tubes & Exposure Control
Generator topologies, tube construction and rating charts, AEC circuits, kVp/mA/time calibration and tube conditioning.
Image Receptors, Digital Radiography & Detectors
CR and DR receptors, flat-panel detector construction, image chain troubleshooting, artifacts, and detector calibration.
Term 3
Calibration, Quality Assurance & Preventive Maintenance
kVp/mAs accuracy, HVL, timer and AEC testing, collimation and alignment, PM scheduling and test tools.
Regulations, Documentation & Field Service
FDA and state regulations, service records, DICOM basics, field service workflow, and the certification exam review.
