Certificate
Hospital Bed & Patient Lift Service Technician
A 12-credit certificate for technicians who keep hospital beds, stretchers and patient lifts safe and working. You start with bed architecture — frames, articulation, brakes, side rails, power supplies and hand controls — and the patient-safety hazards that drive service standards. Then you work through actuators, motor drivers, control boards, sensors, bed-exit and scale systems. Next comes patient handling equipment: ceiling and floor lifts, sit-to-stand devices, slings, batteries and load testing. The final course covers electrical safety testing, entrapment checks, preventive maintenance schedules, documentation and fault-finding workflows. Coursework is vendor-neutral.
