Certificate
Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging (PET/SPECT) Service Technician
A 12-credit certificate for imaging service technicians who support nuclear medicine departments. You start with system architecture and radiation safety, then service gamma camera detectors and SPECT gantries, followed by PET detectors, coincidence timing and PET/CT integration. The final course covers QC, dose calibrators and preventive maintenance. Coursework is vendor-neutral. It prepares you for industry practice and does not by itself grant any license or agency certification.

Curriculum
Term 2
Gamma Camera Detectors and SPECT Service
This course provides essential knowledge and practical skills for servicing gamma camera detectors and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) systems. Technicians will learn the operational principles, maintenance procedures, and calibration techniques vital for ensuring optimal system performance and diagnostic accuracy.
PET Detectors and Coincidence Electronics
This course provides an in-depth understanding of the fundamental principles and operational aspects of detection systems used in advanced medical imaging. Students will gain practical skills in coincidence timing, time-of-flight measurements, and the integration of these technologies.
