Certificate
PACS Administrator
A 12-credit certificate for technicians and IT staff who run picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) in hospitals and imaging centers. You start with imaging modalities, the radiology workflow and how PACS, RIS and the EHR fit together, including patient privacy. Then you learn DICOM and HL7: objects, tags, store, query/retrieve and worklist services, AE titles and interface troubleshooting. Next comes infrastructure: servers, storage tiers and archives, diagnostic displays, networking, backup and cybersecurity. The final course covers daily administration: user access, study corrections, audits, downtime procedures, upgrades and documentation. Coursework is vendor-neutral.
