Program description

A 63-credit associate of applied science that takes you from Ohm's law to designing, building, and troubleshooting complete electronic systems. Every course carries graded virtual-lab work.

How a course runs: fourteen short lessons, each with a knowledge check, graded lab work in the virtual workbench, two quizzes covering the first and second half of the material, and a final exam over the whole course.

Term 1

Foundations & DC circuits

10 credits

DC Circuit Analysis

Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's laws, series-parallel networks, network theorems.

Electronics Lab Practices

Virtual lab orientation, measurement technique, safety, DMM and bench power supply simulation.

Technical Algebra & Trigonometry

Applied math for phasors, ratios, and circuit problem solving.

Term 2

AC circuits & instrumentation

10 credits

AC Circuit Analysis

Sinusoids, reactance, impedance, resonance, transformers, power factor.

Test & Measurement Instrumentation

Oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum basics, measurement uncertainty.

Prerequisites:EET 105

Technical Writing

Lab reports, specifications, and documentation for engineering teams.

Semiconductors

Semiconductor Devices

Diodes, BJTs, MOSFETs, biasing, small-signal models, thermal limits.

Digital Logic Fundamentals

Boolean algebra, combinational and sequential logic, counters, state machines.

Prerequisites:EET 101

Applied Calculus Concepts

Rates of change, integrals, and transients as used in circuit behavior.

Analog & embedded systems

Analog Circuit Design

Op-amps, filters, oscillators, instrumentation amplifiers, noise.

Microcontrollers & Embedded C

ARM Cortex-M programming, GPIO, timers, interrupts, ADC, serial buses.

Applied Physics for Electronics

Electromagnetism, energy, and materials behavior in electronic systems.

Grading & assessment

  • Knowledge checks and quizzes build toward the course final exam.
  • Virtual labs and written assignments are graded on our side, with feedback you can read before a retake.
  • Final grades combine knowledge checks, graded lab work, quizzes and the final exam.

Virtual lab requirements

  • Computer with 8 GB RAM and reliable internet.
  • Modern browser; no software installation required.
  • No physical kit ships; all instruments and components are simulated.

Pacing

  • Courses are listed in a suggested order of 6 terms, but there's no cohort, no start date and no fixed schedule.
  • Study as much or as little as you like in a week — nothing expires and there's no attendance to keep.
  • Everything runs in the browser, so there are no session times to work around.

Prerequisites & progression

  • No diploma or GED is required — the first courses assume only comfort with basic algebra.
  • Each course lists its prerequisites, and enrollment checks you've finished them.
  • Bachelor's courses open once the matching associate credential is issued, and master's courses once the matching bachelor's credential is.
