Medical Air, Vacuum and WAGD Systems
Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles of operation, component identification, preventative maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques for various types of medical air compressors, air treatment and drying systems, medical vacuum pumps, and WAGD systems. Emphasizing safety protocols and compliance with industry standards, the course prepares technicians to competently maintain these vital systems found in healthcare facilities. Through a blend of theoretical instruction, practical demonstrations, and hands-on lab exercises, students will develop the diagnostic and repair skills necessary to ensure reliable and safe system performance, critical for patient care environments. The curriculum culminates in a capstone project simulating real-world service scenarios.
