3D Reconstruction, Workstation and Navigation Integration

This course from Anode Technical Institute examines the imaging data pathway from projection acquisition and 3D reconstruction to workstation display, image transfer, and surgical navigation integration. Students study reconstruction fundamentals, image artifacts, workstation and mobile view station functions, and general approaches to isolating hardware, software, and communication faults. Networking and DICOM topics address addressing, connectivity, transfer verification, and protection of patient information. Navigation topics cover coordinate systems, image registration, tracking dependencies, and checks that support safe handoff to qualified clinical personnel. Simulated labs and a capstone emphasize documented troubleshooting, controlled test environments, and adherence to manufacturer service documentation rather than proprietary service procedures. Instruction draws only on publicly available information and general engineering knowledge; Anode Technical Institute is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorized by Medtronic, and this course is not factory training.
