Certificate
Medical Gas & Vacuum Systems Service Technician
A 12-credit certificate for technicians who maintain hospital medical gas and vacuum systems. You start with medical gases, supply sources, manifolds, bulk systems and an overview of NFPA 99 requirements. Then you work through distribution: piping, zone valves, outlets and inlets, master and area alarms. Next comes medical air compressors, vacuum pumps and waste anesthetic gas disposal (WAGD). The final course covers testing and verification concepts, cross-connection and purity checks, preventive maintenance, shutdown planning and documentation. Coursework is vendor-neutral and does not replace required installer or verifier credentials.
