Storage, Tracking and Quality Assurance

Students will explore the critical aspects of device management following reprocessing, beginning with optimal storage techniques to prevent contamination and maintain functionality. The curriculum then delves into robust tracking systems, examining both manual and automated methods for documenting device usage, location, and maintenance history, ensuring accountability and compliance. A significant portion of the course is dedicated to quality assurance, including routine inspections, functional testing, and performance verification to confirm devices meet operational standards before patient use. Emphasis is placed on understanding relevant regulatory guidelines and best practices for identifying, documenting, and resolving issues. Through practical scenarios and theoretical instruction, students will develop the skills necessary to implement and oversee secure and efficient processes that uphold device integrity and patient safety in healthcare settings.
