Certificate
CBET Exam Preparation Certificate (Biomedical Equipment Technician)
A 15-credit certificate that prepares biomedical equipment technicians for the CBET exam. The five courses follow the exam's published content areas: anatomy and physiology, public safety in the healthcare environment, electronics fundamentals, healthcare technology operation and troubleshooting, and healthcare IT. The last course ends with two timed, full-length practice exams with an explanation for every answer. All practice questions are original. Important: CBET is a certification awarded by AAMI. Anode Technical Institute is not affiliated with or endorsed by AAMI, and this certificate does not award the CBET. You register for and take AAMI's exam yourself, and you must meet AAMI's own eligibility rules, which combine education and work experience.

Curriculum
Term 1
Anatomy & Physiology for BMETs
CBET 101 Anatomy & Physiology for BMETs connects body systems, medical terminology, and physiological signals to the equipment biomedical equipment technicians support. Students build foundational knowledge for the CBET exam’s anatomy and physiology content area while learning how normal physiology, common disorders, and measurement artifacts affect device readings.
Public Safety in the Healthcare Environment
CBET 110 Public Safety in the Healthcare Environment introduces the safety practices biomedical equipment technicians use to protect patients, staff, and visitors. Students explore electrical safety, infection control, hazardous materials, radiation and laser hazards, and safety-event response while preparing for the Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) exam.
Term 2
Electronics Fundamentals Review
CBET 120 Electronics Fundamentals Review strengthens the circuit analysis and troubleshooting skills biomedical equipment technicians need for CBET exam preparation. Review DC and AC circuits, semiconductors, operational amplifiers, power supplies, digital logic, and common BMET test equipment through vendor-neutral examples and practical exercises.
Healthcare Technology Operation & Troubleshooting
CBET 130 Healthcare Technology Operation & Troubleshooting explores how patient monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, defibrillators, electrosurgical units, and imaging systems operate. Students develop systematic symptom-to-fault troubleshooting skills while preparing for the Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) exam, a credential awarded by AAMI.
